Love to design Murdock golf course - Charlotte Business Journal:: "The design firm of professional golfer Davis Love III will redesign the links at Kannapolis Golf Course as billionaire property owner David Murdock draws plans for high-end residential development along the course.
The project -- the first in the Charlotte area for Love Golf Design -- was announced Monday, the day after Love won the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro, which was played on a course he redesigned at Forest Oaks Country Club.
The redesign in Kannapolis is part of Murdock's plans to develop land around the Kannapolis Country Club to include as many as 700 homes, some of which will sell for $1 million-plus.
The project will mark the residential debut of Murdock's Castle & Cooke North Carolina in the Southeast.
