Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook - Golf

Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook - Golf: "The Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbookfor Gold is the perfect survival guide for those brave enough to face the fareway. It's packed with irreverent advice and some rather silly pictures on how to extricate yourself from some of golf's inherent pitfalls.

From the gentler quandaries such as how to drive with a putter, or putt with a driver, to the inevitable and more dangerous aspects of the game, such as how to disarm an irate golfer, there's even advice on how to survive a fashion emergency - though if you're already wearing golfing shoes and slacks you're probably beyond help anyway.

With over 153 pages of indispensable advice, this handbook is an absolute must for all golfers - especially the ones that take it all just a little too seriously. "

The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Golf

The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Golf: "
Drawing on their own tragic experience and the expertise of experts to help golfers survive dozens of dire situations, the authors have written a survival guide for those less than happy with their links performance. Learn how to finish a round with a broken arm, deal with a cigar brush fire, cure golf addiction, or remove a tick. Discover the best way to play out of a water hazard, make it through a lightning storm, or survive being hit in the privates.

Hands-on, illustrated, step-by-step instructions guide you through these and other perils lurking on the fairway. With an appendix of rules for bizarre mishaps, strategies for surmounting dress-code and equipment crises, and other essential survival tips, this handy guide wont help you save par -- but it could save much more than that: no one should tee off without it."

DailyBulletin.com - News: "Disc golf all the rage, except here
Just one small Inland Empire course for those who play growing sport
By Jason Newell, Staff Writer

Some people see the odd contraptions jutting up from the grass and scratch their heads.
Not Matt Murray.
Ever since he learned that the strange-looking devices -- part pole, part basket, part chains -- had sprouted at a small Rancho Cucamonga park near his home, the college professor has made a point to visit them once a week.
With a small bag slung over his shoulder, he stands a good distance away, stretches his arms and twists his torso to loosen up. He looks across the park and feels a slight breeze against his bushy face.
It's tee time.
Murray is part of a growing number of disc golfers, a colorful bunch who equipped with specialized saucers and limber throwing arms -- is putting the 'par' into parks around the country each day.
As with the 'other' golf, players of the disc version traverse grassy courses, aiming to complete a series of holes with the fewest number of strokes.
Only here, balls and clubs are swapped "

'These devices are allowed under the rules of golf and are likely to become more prevalent in the future,' said Mark Peterson, Executive Director of the Golf Association of Philadelphia. 'We feel if a player wants to use one these devices in competition, he should have the option to do so. In regards to pace of play, we don't feel there will any drawback at all. We will continue to strictly enforce the pace of play at our events just as we've done in the past. "

Easy Golf Instruction, Golf Instruction, Golf Gifts, Books, DVDs, Videos, Golf Swing Tips: "My Teaching Is Unique

Typical golf Instructors teach you theory and physics.

They teach you positions. They teach you to push, to pull, and to accelerate. Typical golf instructors try (in vain in most cases) to teach you to swing like Tiger, like Phil, like Big John.
Now don't get me wrong. Tiger Woods is an outstanding player and I enjoy watching him play. His golf swing is like poetry in motion but for me to pattern my game after arguably the greatest player on the planet is just not practical. Im not a world-class athlete nor do I have 8 - 10 hours a day to devote to the game and I certainly dont have thousands of dollars to pay a high profile instructor to follow me around and critique me."

Padraig Harrington reflects on contrasting 2005

Padraig Harrington reflects on contrasting 2005: "Padraig Harrington reflects on contrasting 2005
The silhouette on the practice range at Sherwood Country Club on the Friday of the Target World Challenge last month belonged to Padraig Harrington, pounding balls in the dusk and then moving to the putting green when it was dark.
Despite the reputation of Vijay Singh, this might be the hardest-working man in golf.
'Working on the range, I like that,'' Harrington said. 'That's not something that's difficult for me to do. I quite enjoy that end of the practice.''
But the Irishman was in dire need of a break, more for his mind than his body. Last year was his best year, and his toughest."

SILVIS, Ill. -- If anyone ever deserved this victory, it was Sean O'Hair.

He shot a 6-under-par 65 on Sunday, holding off J.L. Lewis and Hank Kuehne to win the John Deere Classic for his first career victory. The rookie, who turns 23 on Monday and was making only his 18th career start, finished with a 16-under 268.
So steady all day, O'Hair made things interesting at the end. After a birdie on 17, he had to scramble on 18 after nearly putting his ball in the water. With the ball on the hazard line, O'Hair chipped within 10 feet to make par.
'(On) 18, especially a guy in my situation who never won before, you're definitely almost puking,' he said, laughing. 'My hands were so sweaty, I was more concerned about keeping my hands dry than anything.' "

HOW do you give students the competitive edge in golf training?
By providing them with better training facilities and training partners, of course.
In line with this philosophy, the Australian Institute for Golf Management (AIGM) has expanded its training facilities by including the Wanneroo Golf Club to the Joondalup Country Club.
Membership to Wanneroo Golf course will provide students with on-course play facilities as well as entry to club and external competitions.

Are you keen to improve your golf techniques, and turn your passion for golf into a career? Find out how you can do this at AIGM`s upcoming free golf clinic.
AIGMs Resident PGA Golf Professional Andy Gott has lined up several strategies to ensure that students acquire crucial golf techniques to give them an advantage as they train with him.
For instance, an important aspect that is often overlooked in training for golfers of all levels including tour pros is golf equipment.
The right equipment be it clubs or balls goes a long way to enabling golfers to play a better game.
This is where the new AIGM Golf Technology Centre comes in. Boasting of some of the latest technological advances in equipment, the centre offers the ability to diagnose, assess, alter and rebuild golf clubs to levels that previously, only major golf companies had been able to do. "
