PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Boston University women's golf team finished in sixth place overall at the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday afternoon. This came just one day after the squad set a new single round team record of 323. On day two, the Terriers shot a round of 342 for a two day total of 665.
Allison Hamilton led all BU golfer's, landing in 14th with a score of 161 (80, 81). Dierdre Hatfield was not far behind with rounds of 81 and 83 (164) for 23rd place. Lauren Strong completed the two-day tournament in 32nd (84-86--170), while Haley Goucher (85-88--173) came in 38th. Kaitlyn Mardeusz was the 41st golfer and rounded out the field for Boston University.
The Terriers were competing in a 15-team field on a par-72 course that ran 5,813 yards. BU was the highest finisher among America East schools as they finished 30 shots ahead of the University of Hartford, which finished in 11th.

Greendale -- In the club championship Luke Guthrie won with a two-day 77. In the ladies' division Jane Barnes won with 99. while Kerry O'Reilly won the senior division with 78.
Kenwood -- John Nunez, Mike McGuire and Dick Brown won the KGA closing day tournament.
Leisure World -- In the fall mixer, Jeff Lawrence, Roman Wowk, Jerry Page and Jane Hughes won with 128.
Montgomery -- In the WGA Crystal Cup, Sally Lumpkin won low net with 73.
Northwest -- Ray and Mike Wankmiller won the two-man championship.
Piedmont -- In the Northern Virginia Men's B-team final, Piedmont defeated Stoneleigh.
Tantallon -- In the senior MGA championship Scott Kimmel won with a two-day gross 156."

Olney Daily Mail - Sports: "The Olney Tigers boys golf team advanced to the IHSA Class A Sectional with a third-place finish at the Mt. Carmel Regional on October 3.

The Tigers will travel to Carlyle on Tuesday to compete at the very challenging Governors Run Golf Course.

The host Golden Aces won their own regional with a low round of 336. Olney shot a 348.

Seniors Ryan Jenner and Devin Hundley paced the Tigers after firing off team-low rounds of 85.

Junior Austin Taylor shot an 88, followed by senior Jordan Kocher with a 90. Senior Jared St. Pierre carded a round of 93. Freshman Dylan Walden shot a 97.

Other individuals that advanced to sectional play out of the Mt. Carmel Regional included: Kyle Warren of Red Hill, 77; Alex White of Newton, 79; Eric Walker of Fairfield, 85; Blayze Miller of Lawrenceville, 85; Alex Dreith of Fairfield, 86; Zach Wasion of Flora 86; Zach Manley of Lawrenceville, 86; Tyler Mitchell of Oblong, 86; Logan Brimberry of Robinson, 86; Travis Whithaus of Robinson, 86; and Mitchell Budds of Wayne City, 86."

Hamilton College - News, Sports, Events - Men's Golf Places Seventh in Own Invitational: "Dave Christie '09 tied for sixth place out of 90 golfers as Hamilton College finished seventh in its own 18-team Fifth Annual Hamilton-Shenendoah Invitational held at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, N.Y., on Oct. 7 and 8.
Christie tied his career-best round with an even-par 72 on Sunday at Shenendoah Golf Club (6,685 yards). He shot 72 twice at Brunswick Golf Club en route to winning medalist honors at the Bowdoin College Invitational on Sept. 9 and 10.
Christie carded a six-over 78 on Saturday at Kaluhyat Golf Club (6,724 yards) for a 36-hole total of 150. He finished one shot out of the top five as the five lowest scores made the all-tournament team.
Mike Hayes '08 tied for 27th place with a two-day total of 158. Hayes' tournament was highlighted by a 76 he shot on Sunday. Dan Treichler '08 posted a score of 160 (79-81) for 36 holes. Jeff Corbett '09 was one stroke behind Treichler after rounds of 79 and 82. Blake McLennan '07 fired a four-over 76 on Sunday playing as an individual."

Love to design Murdock golf course - Charlotte Business Journal:: "The design firm of professional golfer Davis Love III will redesign the links at Kannapolis Golf Course as billionaire property owner David Murdock draws plans for high-end residential development along the course.
The project -- the first in the Charlotte area for Love Golf Design -- was announced Monday, the day after Love won the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro, which was played on a course he redesigned at Forest Oaks Country Club.

The redesign in Kannapolis is part of Murdock's plans to develop land around the Kannapolis Country Club to include as many as 700 homes, some of which will sell for $1 million-plus.
The project will mark the residential debut of Murdock's Castle & Cooke North Carolina in the Southeast.
